We set out to establish ANECA’s programs by casting a wide net in the Australian coaching community to find out what matters most to you right now, and where to start to develop and direct resources to help you.
No – ANECA is an independent body and is not affiliated to any other equestrian organisation. ANECA intends to offer its resources to support coaches using a consistent and professional approach to better the field of coaching.
No. ANECA is an entirely separate not-for-profit organisation focusing on providing support for coaches by coaches..
No – ANECA is a not-for-profit organisation which will provide
* Easy, inclusive access to coach training,
* affordable memberships for those who teach whether they have their own insurance or work at a school which has its own insurance
* high level of access to coach education and professional development resources.
ANECA is in the process of developing its programs and resources according to its membership structure. We will continuously seek input from coaches to be responsive to their needs for renewal and skill maintenance, recognising that Coaches teach more than just riding.

A. ANECA is committed to inclusivity and education in equestrian coaching. We will build a bank of resources for coaches to access as and when you might need them. This will include those you have indicated in the survey that you enjoy the most i.e. online courses, webinars, PDFs, etc
A. Yes – you will be able to access resources to suit your current level of expertise. One of ANECA’s objectives is to provide additional resources that are easy to access including online courses, webinars, videos, take-away pdfs etc. all online available through our website.
A. Yes – that is what ANECA is designed to do. We aim to be a National association that is run by coaches for coaches, we are a no-frills not-for profit association set on providing mentoring and help with coach development.
A. Yes, we will – in ways that will ensure that they are applicable to all disciplines and activities.
A. No, because that content is discipline-specific for each coach to include in their lessons, but how to teach applies across all disciplines. Our resources will be based on the principles of teaching but will include topics that cut across all forms of coaching such as the many facets of safety.
A. Yes – ANECA recognises the importance of keeping abreast of educational and pedagogical developments in teaching and coaching and will provide resources for coaches who seek help with these issues.
A. Yes, ANECA recognises the need for including resources from the sport sciences, wherever they are relevant to equestrian coaching.
A. ANECA will train coaches to improve their coaching, in the disciplines of their choice. It will not teach discipline specific technical content, it will train coaches to teach whatever content they wish to work with, provided it is in the best interests of the rider’s education and contributes to the welfare of the horse.
A. Absolutely not! We are in the process of developing our membership fee structure with the objective of being inclusive, accessible to all coaches and asking for a modest fee to access resources that add value to your coach education.
A. ANECA was established by coaches for coaches, as a coaching association that has a strong sense of community. It will provide a forum for its members to learn, discuss and practice their coaching skills, and exchange their views and ideas on coach education. ANECA will also give you a clear voice which represents your coaching interests in Australian equestrian sport.

Joining ANECA will give you a number of benefits:
A. Certainly not. Membership of ANECA will have no influence at all on any insurance you may choose to hold.
A. No. ANECA is independent body of coach educators and has no plans at this stage to offer insurance although we would willingly support industry efforts to improve the quality of coach insurance options, if this becomes possible.
A. ANECA will do all it can to support coaches in finding good insurance. We know this is a vital issue for you.
A. No – ANECA resources will be specifically tailored to your needs and interests.
A. Yes, ANECA is very much into sharing resources and our website will give us a platform to do this.
A. Yes – ANECA is in the process of preparing readily available courses and resources which will all be available online in the near future and progressively thereafter.
A. In principle, ANECA certainly supports the promotion of qualified coaches. However, it would not be appropriate for ANECA to promote any one individual coach, nor to engage in general advertising. However, ANECA will include resources on how to ethically promote your own business and will actively supports coaches who do so.

A. ANECA will at all times promote ethical and responsible coaching and business practices. As with any other professional body, while we may not be in a position to change how individuals might advertise their services, ANECA would neither endorse nor encourage irresponsible or unprofessional practices.
A. Yes, in the interests of improving rider safety and horse welfare, ANECA will reach out to unqualified coaches in all disciplines and will encourage them to become accredited with the peak body which best represents their interests.
A. No, that is the responsibility of a peak body of the coach’s choice.
